Front End Web Development
Monday 17th – Friday 21st July 2023
Having loads of useful data is useless if the people who need to understand it, can’t.
This work experience will take the data being collected from environmental sensors and display it in an understandable way. Having the right information in a timely manner can make all the difference. It could be a warning that something is above a threshold, or maybe literally off the threshold if it is a location based information. A potential spike in water use might indicate a water leak or just a tap left open. Either way there is a cost incurred. But remote sensing and the way the information is imparted is important and has consequences.
Students will work together to create the front end of a data stream. Formulating the user experience UX and the user user interface UI to make it suitable for the type of user. Students will use HTML, CSS and Javascript and propriety platforms to complete the exercises set to them. They will also learn other skills associated with the industry such as working in an agile method.
