Following on from the success of the first Agile on the Beach Coding Retreat in 2018, AOTB are running another this October. A two-day master class for software developers to reflect, practice and hone their craft… and as it is an AOTB event there is a typically Cornish feast thrown into the mix.
This retreat is open to individuals and teams of all abilities, the only prerequisite is some experience of software development and a desire to learn.
Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss and practice software craftsmanship, communication and creativity, focusing on TDD and pair programming, to try out new ideas and revisit old ones.
Led by Kevlin Henney and Jon Jagger, both experts in their field, using Jon’s innovative and collaborative cyber-dojo environment, delegates will re-examine coding habits and debate modern practices with experts and peers.
With time to look at different code and varying approaches, this retreat will open up alternative ways of approaching old problems with great rewards.
Then in the evening an opportunity to reflect on the learning of the day whilst tucking into hearty platters of locally sourced food, followed by marshmallow toasting round a fire pit.
This event is sponsored by Software Cornwall and the Developing Skills for Business ESIF Project.
