Differnet makes first hire after surge in WordPress demand

Truro-based WordPress developer Differnet Digital has responded to a surge in demand for fast, secure websites by appointing the company’s first employee.

Increasing mobile usage, and changes in search ranking rules, have put the spotlight on websites’ security and loading speed – causing Differnet’s work optimising WordPress and WooCommerce sites to become oversubscribed.

Managing director Richard Collett felt the time was right to expand the business – hiring Adam Trudgeon to create fast, custom plugins for customers’ sites.
He says: “People love the simplicity of the WordPress platform, but they increasingly want their sites to do clever things like letting web visitors drag and drop photos to make their own profile page.

“The challenge is doing that without slowing the site down, or compromising security. Adam’s skills are helping us to do just that. He’s also a great guy to have around.”
A graduate of Truro College, Adam holds both an FdSc in Web Development and a BSc (Hons) in Computing. He honed his skills in freelance web development.

“I’ve always loved taking things apart and seeing how they work,” he explains. “Wordpress is great for that – I can tweak and develop sites that are fast and secure, and give the user an awesome all-round experience.”

With a growing number of clients approaching Differnet for faster, more secure WordPress sites, Adam seems to have his work cut out.
