Software Cornwall is delighted to announce that they have 35 students (year 10 and 12) from 16 schools across Cornwall attending their Mission to Mars work experience week.
During the week students from all across Cornwall will get hands on experience as a software engineer. Working in teams the students will learn how to program the autonomous robots (Bert and Ernie) to carry out challenges and manoeuvres as if they were on a mission to Mars. more on event here
At the end of the week the students will demonstrate their work to guests from Cornwall’s tech community, and have the opportunity to talk to future employers about career pathways.
They will also get to find out more about the exciting new Tech Baccalaureate I am digital – developed in partnership between Cornwall College and Software Cornwall members.
Supported by funding from memberships, Software Cornwall organises and runs this event with the help of volunteer’s members such as Bluefruit Software, Flowmoco, Cornwall College and Steve Amor.
The event aims to help students experience what a career in software engineering might be like.
The community aims to continue to run Missions to Mars and other Learn to Code events across the county throughout the year.
To help make this happen a Crowdfunder campaign has been launched to fund new kit and future events.
You can now pledge your support for future missions at http://crowdfunder.co.uk/kernowm2m
