Cornwall Tecademy

As part of Software Cornwall’s objective to support education in the community we are pleased to announce our two day Tech Academy designed for computer science teachers.

We will be running our first Tech Academy on the 21st and 22nd of May 2016 at a central location in Cornwall.  Spaces are limited, however, we’re looking to run more sessions throughout the year.

The workshop will cover the following:


Day 1 – Curriculum and materials

Software Cornwall

Code Clubs

Barefoot Computing

Computational Thinking

Computer Science

Programming resources


Day 2 – Raspberry Pi’s

Coding in Minecraft

Creating music with SonicPi

Interfacing with LEDs and Switches

Interfacing with motors

Using the camera to take pictures and make videos


By the end of the workshop, teachers will:

Have increased their knowledge of the new computing curriculum

Have access to learning material

Be  more comfortable with using Raspberry Pi’s in the classroom

Have access to the Software Cornwall Members Network

Become a Software Cornwall Certified Tecademy Teacher
