Backend Django developer

 

Work Location: Cornwall/ Remote (UK Based) – We do not provide Visa sponsorships

Schedule: Full – Time

Type: 3 months Contract (possibility of turning full-time after)

 

Description:

Reread is looking to disrupt the publishing space. We use predictive technology to create the next bestseller. As a backend developer expert you will be joining as the first non-founder member, requiring someone who is passionate about building something innovative and loves a fast-paced start-up environment.

 

Roles and Responsibilities –

·       Refactoring and improvements

·       Remodel application database structure

·       Refactor authentication process and add social logins

·       Revamped analytics tool with added tracked features

·       Revamp admin panel

·       New features

·       Multiple books and version uploads

·       User profiles

·       Author communities

·       Author referral system

·       In-app and push notifications

·       In-app search functionality

·       Account settings and user management

·       Writer services management

·       Integrate database management and data manipulation tool

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Astute problem solving skills and ability to transform layman language into Software specifications and design

• Fast learner who can adapt to a highly agile environment and deliver quickly with effective prioritization

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering from a recognized college/university OR an equivalent experience of 3-4 years in the software development domain

• Proficiency in Python, and specifically Django / Flask framework for developing microservice-based backends

• Proficiency in Angular JS or an equivalent front end framework

• Experience working with REST APIs

• 4+ years of experience in full-stack development working with various front end and backend technologies

• Experience working with an RDBMS is required, Postgres is desirable

• Experience working with git for version control, and AWS for infrastructure

• Ability to work together in a team spread across time zones

• Self-driven and passionate about the work and aligns with the vision of the company
