The Innovation Exchange: Featuring My Coast

Thursday March 2 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Join us to hear how Jo Murray created the My Coast app, connect with other businesses in Cornwall and gather knowledge.

The third event in our Innovation Exchange series will feature Jo Murray, Founder of My Coast, a coastal safety app which gathers all the information needed for a safe and fun day out along the Cornish coastline.

Jo created the My Coast app after she began visiting the coast daily with her three children and encountering a number of hazards, from dangerously miscalculating the tides to finding inaccurate facilities information online.

“I wanted to take the luck out of having an amazing day out on the coast”, explains Jo, whose app links the user with real-time, verified information to enable beachgoers to make informed decisions before making the journey to visit a coastal location or entering the water.

My Coast is working in collaboration with the RNLI, MET Office, Marine Coastguard, SWW and the Universities of Plymouth and Exeter, with a shared vision to improve survival rates for coastal incidents and enable better decision-making.

Join us on the 2nd of March 2023 to hear how Jo has created the My Coast app, which you can now download and test (via the App Store and Google Play).

Taking place at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Innovation Exchange is a lunchtime event (11:30 am – 13:30 pm) where Cornish businesses can meet to engage, gather knowledge and connect with other businesses in Cornwall.
